Canva releases Work Kits, adtech apps, and Canva Enterprise.

Exciting news! Today, the visual creative technology company unveiled Canva Enterprise, a new offering tailored for large enterprises. Alongside this, they introduced several new tools for businesses, including customized Work Kits, native adtech apps, and advanced AI capabilities.

These announcements were made at the company’s inaugural international Canva Create event in Los Angeles.

This suite of tools is designed to support teams within large organizations, streamlining the creation of visual assets and simplifying creative workflows. Over the past two years, Canva has introduced its Visual Suite and launched multiple B2B campaigns to enhance its AI-powered Magic Studio suite.

With 185 million monthly active users, Canva is utilized by teams in 95% of Fortune 500 companies.

Introducing Canva Enterprise: A subscription offering for large businesses featuring sophisticated admin controls and robust security to ensure all assets remain on-brand.

Key features include:

  • Admin Controls: Leaders can manage access to visual elements and templates, ensuring proper use and external sharing of assets.
  • Enterprise-Level Security: Canva Shield provides a suite of trust and safety tools, including indemnification for AI-generated content in certain cases.

Pricing for Canva Enterprise is based on organization size, allowing enterprise customers to scale seats with cloud storage and create multiple teams, each with individualized controls.

Brand Management: Kawalsky stated, “Managing brand IP and establishing a clear visual identity is crucial. We aimed to simplify the process for organizations to set design approval standards and restrict teams to using content that is ready for commercial use. Canva Shield represents Canva’s comprehensive approach to customer safety and privacy, and it is a key component of our Canva Enterprise offering. Additionally, for added peace of mind when using our AI-powered Magic Studio products, we offer indemnification to eligible enterprise customers at no extra cost.”

Work Kits: Canva Work Kits consolidate tools, templates, and instructions customized for specific teams within an organization. These resources are conveniently placed on a single page. Currently, Work Kits are available for marketing, HR, sales, and creative teams, with more kits being developed for other teams.

In the Work Kit for marketing and creative teams, users can set up and access a brand kit (including brand colors, logos, and layouts) with brand management tools. Templates and instructions enable team members to create campaign briefs, social media posts, and post-campaign reports. Users can also find apps within the Work Kit and integrate workflows with tools such as Monday, Asana, and Frontify.

“Since the introduction of the Visual Suite in 2022, we’ve noticed new ways teams are utilizing Canva, from HR to finance to sales,” said Kawalsky. “We wanted to make it easier for professionals in all fields to fully harness Canva’s capabilities, tailored to their most common tasks and needs.”

AI Updates: Since its launch in October 2023, Canva’s Magic Studio has been used 6.5 billion times, according to the company.

New tools and updates to the Visual Suite and Magic Studio AI products include:

  • Magic Media: Text to Graphic, generating graphics, icons, and illustrations in various styles from a text prompt.
  • Magic Design: Producing higher-quality presentations with enhanced AI design technology.
  • Resize and Magic Switch: Converting any design into any custom document, with options such as video scripts, LinkedIn posts, or presentation outlines.
  • Styles & Layouts: Allowing users to apply brand colors and templates to an entire design with a single click.
  • AI-powered Photo Editor: Enabling users to seamlessly move, remove, or edit any object in an image as if editing a Canva template.
  • Video Upgrades: Including AI-powered highlights that extract clips from longer videos and Enhance Voice, which clarifies audio by reducing background noise.

“Our focus is on integrating AI where it’s most beneficial and eliminating tedious tasks that slow down teams. At Canva Create, we’re enhancing Magic Studio with new features designed to expedite editing processes and workflows,” Kawalsky explained. “Our AI tools are powered by a blend of proprietary models, models from partners like OpenAI and RunwayML (with our custom enhancements), and third-party apps from our developer partners. This approach ensures our AI tools are continually improving.”

Adtech: Canva has also introduced native adtech apps in collaboration with Google, Meta, and Amazon to help businesses create launch-ready ads. These new apps offer instant design feedback and easy access to approved copy and image assets, along with templates for ad creation.

Why We Care: Many marketing processes, particularly those related to branding, involve departments outside of marketing. User-friendly platforms for visual design and other functions involving specific teams outside of marketing can enhance efficiency across an organization. Canva’s enterprise tools aim to boost this efficiency while providing the controls required by large brands. Integrations with work management systems like Monday indicate that Canva aims to augment and simplify workflows, not replace them.
